…And everyone is a racer. If you doubt that, you’ve obviously never driven in New York City during rush hour. Look closely at the driver of that Japanese luxury car. He’s just as miffed as you the racer is at having to drive fifty-five miles per hour when the speedometer on the car clearly reads one hundred and fifty. Why can’t we drive it at that speed if the car can come close to it. Man, just look at him fiddling with the knobs pretending to be tuning the radio into a station. We racers know what he is really doing is setting the frequency of his imaginary laser beam roadblock remover system. You know the ones; they make little bomb sounds as we pretend we are obliterating our foes on the drive home.

If you really want to annoy him, honk your horn, tailgate him for a few seconds then cut in front of him. When he reaches his boiling point, slam on your brakes and drive slower than you were both going previously. then apply your brakes and drive slower than you were driving before you cut him off. His typical response will be one of anger, an anger borne of the pent-up frustrations of living in a high tech world and being legislated into a low-tech existence. Our driver will invariably stab the gas pedal and swerve out of the lane in an attempt to pass you back. You, in turn, speed up, knowing that his intent is to block pass you at the first opportunity, then brake check you just so you get the message.

And so this high-speed game of “chicken” unfolds on any highway others will graciously move over to let the two road-warriors carry on with the spectacle. I’ve participated in a more than a few such duels myself though lately I choose to be a bystander to other people‘s road rage. This emotionally charged ego-tripping could be very dangerous to anyone near the scene.

Society says we should be punished for breaking their law of a maximum velocity of fifty-five miles per hour (in New York at least). Most racers will try to get away with as much as we can, just like on the track and usually have the skills to pull it off. The typical driver lacks all of the needed skills and courage to indulge themselves and so after one or more two hundred dollar speeding tickets, the potential racer’s lust for life is usually squashed flatter than Spongebob in the Arizona desert. They usually go home more frustrated, angrier, and two bills poorer. I’m glad I race motorcycles; I’m glad I have a family of people who know and think and feel exactly as I do… we are fortunate to be real racers.

Drivers aren’t the only ones who are acting crazy either. Anyone who has walked or driven in Manhattan can attest to the fact that the craziest of all humans is not “Checkered Cabbus-Weavus”; that honor belongs to “Pedestrius Al-sue-yerbutt”, the dreaded New York City pedestrian.

No other form of life on the planet is capable of staring into the eyes of the errant tractor-trailer driver and then stepping nonchalantly into the path of his serpentine behemoth. If you’ve never seen eighteen thousand pounds of truck with all the wheels locked up you don’t know what you’re missing. The puff of blue smoke in the distance alerts one to the presence of “Pedestrius Al-su-yerbutt.”

While the truck driver shakes uncontrollably, trying to bring his heartbeat back below the three hundred mark, “Pedestrius Al-su-yerbutt” flashes an ear to ear grin. And why shouldn’t they, they’ve just looked fear and death in the face and walked away unscathed. Others can only look on in amazement; children will point in their direction with wonder and awe. They are momentarily idolized as they relish fifteen seconds worth of their fifteen minutes of fame. They will be on the tongues of everyone who saw their gutsy moves,

“Holy cripes, did you see that?”

I’m glad I race motorcycles; I’m glad I have a family of people who know and think and feel exactly as I do… we are fortunate to be real racers and have our outlet.

Before we forget that this is a moto-cross story, let me get to the heart of the matter. The point is simply how much we as off road riders and racers have to be grateful for. Unlike the road-rager and “Pedestrius Al-sue-yerbutt,” we don’t have to drive our cars at one hundred and twenty miles per hour, nor do we have to tempt fate by stepping in front of speeding trucks just to feel that surge of adrenaline. Thank God we are real racers… I do. We aren’t as unlucky as the folks who live out the two examples of non-racers.

We are the normal; we can take out our frustrations on machines that were designed to be the healers of our pressures and frustrations. We have moto-cross and the woods to keep us sane. How lucky we are indeed. I’m glad I race motorcycles; I’m glad I have a family of people who know and think and feel exactly as I do… I am fortunate to be among real racers. So when next you are privy to witness any of the afore mentioned dramas, you’ll know… people are crazy, and everyone is a racer.

What Alpha Traits does Agent 007 Display?

If we had a battle royal with all the great alpha males in history, who do you think would win? Admittedly, this is a completely silly question, only a little better than something like “who would win between Spiderman or The Batman?” (Obviously, The Batman would win, as he is more alpha…)

But this question isn’t totally frivolous. I pose it to you because I wanted to make the point of how James Bond is basically the supreme example of an alpha male that we have in our culture. There are other men from history and fiction that are strong candidates, but none of them are likely to be as familiar as James Bond is. If you think of fictional alpha males, there is Superman (he doesn’t really get any women), or Tyler Durden (great example, but he was only in one movie). I think Agent 007 offers the most well understood example of the embodiment of alpha male dominant traits.      

So what are these traits? Well, one of them is fearlessness. You have never seen James Bond lacking for confidence. This is an interesting characteristic for normal men to try to adopt. Since we are not super spies who are always guaranteed a sequel, we cannot be completely fearless in the face of incoming bullets. We can learn to be socially fearless. This means that we recognize a situation for what it is, and then attack it with all our hearts. For example, if you see a woman at some venue and want to approach her, just do it. Do it without any worries about the repercussions, because as long as you are respectful you really can’t suffer that much, no matter how she responds to you.

Another key trait that James Bond displays is decisiveness. He is always moving towards some aim, some definite goal, and you never see him waver. Take a look at his classic line, probably the second most famous piece of dialogue that he has. Whenever he orders a martini-basically the only drink he ever orders and he always gets it the same way, shaken not stirred.

He never has to think about what he wants to drink, and therefore always appears to make his decisions with speed and precision. Of course, he maintains this image by making all his decisions in this way. This is not easy to do in real life, but with practice you can learn to do so. Simply start making decisions quickly when it comes to trivial things like what to have for lunch or what shirt to wear. Gradually, you will become more decisive.

James Bond truly embodies two of the alpha male’s most important traits: fearlessness and decisiveness. He goes into every situation with utter confidence, and never wastes a moment wavering. If you can cultivate these traits-social fearlessness and quick decision-making-you will project the image of being an alpha male. Practice these habits everyday and you will see results quickly.

Every man should develop a mission statement for succeeding with single women. This will give you purpose, a plan for doing better with women, and motivate you to take action to seduce women.

Here’s the mission statement that I recommend that you use:

1. I have supreme confidence in myself and my abilities to meet, attract, and seduce any woman I desire. When I approach women my mind is programmed for success and I am not upset if I get rejected.

I will not feel sorry for myself or feel defeated if things don’t go my way with women. This will only make me try harder and be more focused and determined.

2. I will not focus on any weaknesses that I have when it comes to doing better with women. I only concentrate on my supreme powers in attracting women instead of any problems I may have in the romance department.

3. I set goals for succeeding with women and a deadline to accomplish my plan for seducing women. I monitor my progress in achieving these goals day-by-day, week-by-week, and month-by-month. By setting goals it help me to organized by activities in pursuing the women I desire and helps me to create enthusiasm, desire, and determination to do whatever it takes to succeed with women.

4. I have a burning desire at a deep gut level to improve my love and sex life. This burning desire creates a “success consciousness” in my mind that, which in turn creates a habit of continuing success with women.

5. Once I have developed my goals and plans to seduce single women, I follow through with a dogged determination that does not recognize failure or defeat and if I come across obstacles I go under, around, and through them, and I am not influenced by what others may think, say, or do about my plans.

My personal advice is to keep your plans and goals to yourself. This is private and your own personal plan to do better with women. If you share it with your buddies, relatives, co-workers, etc. they may ridicule you or discourage you.

Recently, I was told that “I was under charging for my services because I had a confidence problem” and it was then explained to me that I should not be under charging and that I deserved every penny I asked. What I needed to do was change my perspective at how I looked at myself. I needed to look at myself at a product or brand. More importantly, I needed to also look at the time and money invested in getting where I am in my career. Let me preface the upcoming numbers, they are just estimations. Having said that let’s more on.

Let me give you an example of how to justify the price I charge without having a guilt complex. I practice on average about 10 to 20 hours per week. On the conservative side let’s estimate the hourly at $ 15.00 per hour. So that would be $ 225.00 to $ 300.00 per week of practice. There are 4 weeks per month which is $ 900.00 to 1200.00 per month. I have been doing this for about 24 months which would equal $ 21,600.00 to $ 28,800.00 which is equal to a College Tuition (Stick with me there is more to come). This is not counting the equipment you are using and not counting the time use have invested to master your instrument and the equipment. So depending on how much you invest in your equipment we are now looking at close to $ 60,000.00 to $ 80,000.00. Now add the time, effort, and money you invest in producing demo recordings to get the gig. Then there is the time, effort, and money promoting the show. So need I say anything more about being cheap when booking your show. It doesn’t take long when you use this method to see how over time you have accumulated a huge investment in your music that has to generate a return. When people invest in an MBA degree that is what they use to justify charging the huge Salaries. So now I hope you have the same perspective I now have and refuse to do a show for “CHEAP” ever again. Jeri Goldstein, who has been coaching me tells me that you have to treat you and your music like a business. I received a true testament to what Jeri said. I was booking a gig and it was a trial situation and the owner of the business wanted a business plan as to what I plan to do. This plan should itemize ALL the cost involved with you doing the gig, tour, and anything else. Get a grip on where your money goes. I know that asking something like that is an incredible task for a musician but I would like to think that today’s musician is smarter than the average joe. The reason that the Big Guys have made it is because that is exactly what they have done. Kept track of where their money is exactly. Start now and don’t waver. So get your plan together, know the answers to the questions, and get out there and play your music!

You may have noticed that when you leave your car parked outdoors, even for just one night, it becomes ruined.
